3 Reasons to Attend a Learning and Teaching Information Session at USD

Are you considering a career in teaching? Have you wondered what a graduate level class is actually like? Do you have questions about the next steps you can take to move toward a successful career in teaching?

If so, you’re in luck! The Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences (USD SOLES) is hosting an open, experiential event that allows you to sit in on a class and explore your future as a teacher.

Learning and Teaching Spring Info Session & Sample Class

Thursday, February 6th | 4:00pm -5:30pm

Here are three key reasons why you should consider attending this upcoming Spring Information Session on February 6th.

You’ll Get to Experience a Graduate Class in Real Time

The concept of graduate school in general and of getting your master’s in Education can seem intimidating. What will you learn? How challenging will it be? What are the professors like?

Our Spring Information Session is designed to give you a real experience of the SOLES classroom. At this event, attendees will get to sit in on a class led by professors James Fabionar, PhD and Suzanne Stolz, EdD on Diversity, Inclusion & Schooling. This course explores how social inequities related to disability, social class, race and ethnicity, language, class, gender, national origin, and sexual orientation are often perpetuated in schools.

When you attend February’s Spring Information Session, you’ll get a taste of what the SOLES class experience is like and will be able to see your potential peers and the faculty interact and learn from each other. You also get to spend time on USD’s beautiful campus.

You’ll Get Personalized Time with Our Admissions Team

Whether you are just beginning to consider teaching as a career or you are already applying to programs, it helps to talk to the experts about your specific interests and challenges.

Most prospective students have questions about the field, the school, the application process, career opportunities, or financial aid. The beauty of attending an Information Session is that you get to chat in person with our admissions team, getting their insight about whether SOLES is the right fit for you and the next steps you should take to pull together an excellent application. No question is off limits!

We know that the decision to go to graduate school for your teaching credential or your master’s in Education is a big one. Our goal is to support you and to offer you advice and answers as you navigate the process, and attending an in-person Information Session is a guaranteed way to access the insights you need.

You’ll Get an Application Fee Waiver

While we hope you attend this Spring Information Session for all the valuable intangibles, there is also a great, practical reason to come visit: you’ll receive a $45 application fee waiver!

Come visit us on February 6th and begin the next phase of your education journey.

RSVP today to reserve your spot! We look forward to meeting you.
